💎 Sun, Sea and a Gem? 🏖️
You won’t find this one at Dan’s. We spotted today's drop at Liquorland while in a bit of a rush this week - one of those quick “grab and go” situations where you hope your gut’s got good taste. We’d been on a white wine streak lately, so figured we’d keep the momentum going. Thankfully, this one played its part superbly.
Oh, and before we dive in - this little number is only 86 calories per 150mL. So while this is definitely not official health advice, you could almost argue it’s the gym session of wines.

A Low-Cal Surprise from the Coast 🏖️
🍷 Tatachilla White Admiral Sauvignon Blanc (2024)
We’ll admit it, the label pulled us in and the price tag ($12) sealed the deal. There’s just something about that crisp coastal design that whispers “day off work” and “feet up on the deck.” It’s got a simple charm that actually suits what’s inside the bottle, a clean, light, and breezy drop that doesn’t overthink itself.
According to the backstory, this one’s all about that “care-free coastal spirit.” It’s lighter in alcohol than most, designed for those long, lazy afternoons when you want to sip without slipping into a nap mid-conversation. It’s the sort of wine you could polish off with mates on a sunny Sunday arvo and still make it to dinner without needing a tactical lie-down.
The taste is fresh, easy, and a bit zippy - kind of like that first ocean breeze after a 40-degree scorcher. It’s not the most layered or complex white we’ve had, but it’s refreshingly honest. What you see (and sip) is what you get!
It’s a good reminder that not every bottle needs to be fancy or philosophical. This one’s light, cheerful, and made for daytime drinking. It’s also one of the few wines that could realistically fit into a “summer shred” plan.
All in all, a tidy little coastal crowd-pleaser. Perfect for picnics, beach hangs, or backyard banter - anything where the vibe’s laid-back and the esky’s within reach.
VITR Official Score: 7 / 10
👍 Reality vs Perception: Priced and packaged like a breezy beach drop - and drinks exactly like one. No extra points for coming across as more premium than it is.
👩🎨 Label Aesthetics: Nautical, neat, and easy on the eye. Feels like summer in bottle form.
👴 Comparison to Nonno’s Home Brew: Well...it's not red.
🪩 Fit for an Engagement Party: Great for the pre-drinks this summer, but not for the toast.
🤑 Keep the Change: Enough leftover for a servo ice cream on the way home from the beach.
Real Talk
📖 Fake It 'Til You Make It
Sessionable: When a wine’s light and you can have a few without feeling crook. Drop it casually: “Yeah, it’s super sessionable,” and watch heads nod in agreement.

💡 Sip Tip
Glass Half Full: When pouring wine, stop at the widest part of the glass. That’s where the aromas hang out!

🍿 Sip & Snack
Spicy Tacos & SB: This one screams spicy fish tacos. Bit of spice, squeeze of lime, and a setting sun...heaven.

Until Next Issue, Cheers 🍷
A light, beachy Sauvignon that does exactly what it says on the label - no drama, no heaviness, just a clean coastal sip. It’s not rewriting the wine book, but it earns a solid nod from us.
Stay tuned for next week - we’ve got a sub-$5 wine from Aldi on deck, following a hot tip from a reader. We’re both excited and mildly terrified. 🍷
