Bright, Crisp, and Ready for Anything 🍏
🍷 Yalumba Y Series Pinot Grigio (2024)
If this wine were a person, it’d be that mate who shows up to the BBQ in thongs* and a grin...no fuss, just great company. The Yalumba Y Series Pinot Grigio is exactly that: laid-back, a little bit cheeky, and refreshingly uncomplicated.
First sip? Boom! There’s a fresh pop of green apple, like you’ve just bitten into a crisp Granny Smith. Then, a hint of lemon sneaks in, making it feel like someone’s squeezed a wedge of citrus over your glass. The finish is soft and doesn’t linger - it’s light, clean, and happy to leave you refreshed without overstaying its welcome.
It’s exactly the kind of white you’d want to pull out of the fridge after a long day or bring along for an easy picnic on the beach. And as the flavour is balanced and approachable, it makes for an ideal crowd-pleaser for all your mates with varying wine preferences.
To top it all off, this one’s budget-friendly. While often found for under $10, it's readily available around $15 or less at most bottle shops. That makes it a serious contender for an everyday wine that's easy to get your hands on without skimping on quality.
While we love a red, the Yalumba Y Series Pinot Grigio is proof that you can have an amazing Aussie white without breaking the bank.

VITR Official Score: 8 / 10
👍 Reality vs Perception: We were pleasantly surprised. Got this gem for $9.95, but it’s got the taste and finesse of a wine that should cost a lot more.
👩🎨 Label Aesthetics: Bit plain, to be honest. The bottle’s not winning any style awards, but don’t let that fool you, what’s inside is a real charmer.
👴 Comparison to Nonno’s Home Brew: Nonno only drinks reds, but if he tried this, he’d nod with approval…probably.
🪩 Fit for an Engagement Party: Depends on what else you're running with, but it’s certainly friendly enough to keep everyone happy, even the picky in-laws.
🤑 Keep the Change: With a fiver left to play with, we'd recommend picking up a packet of Tim Tams (Original of course) for a post-dinner snack.
Real Talk
📖 Fake It 'Til You Make It
Minerality: It’s that zingy, almost sea-breeze feel in the wine that gives it a bit of sparkle without actually being fizzy. Think cool ocean spray, but, you know… in a glass.

💡 Sip Tip
Wine Stain Saver: Spilled red wine on your favourite shirt? Don’t panic! Douse the stain in white wine to neutralise it before washing. Your shirt will thank you later.

🍿 Sip & Snack
Pinot Grigio & Fish & Chips: Light and zesty, Pinot Grigio is pretty much made to go with some salty, crispy fish and chips. Extra points if you’re by the beach.
